Awards: Medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd plus Special Awards

Schedule:

  • Weigh-in 8:30-10:00 am
  • Opening ceremony at 11:00 am
  • Junior competition will begin at 11:15 am and continue through completion
  • Senior competition will follow.

Divisions:

  • Juniors: To be determined upon registration
  • Senior men: 60, 66, 73, 81, 90, 100, 100+ (kg)
  • Senior women: 48, 52, 57, 63, 70, 78, 78+ (kg)
  • Masters: To be determined upon registration

Match Time:

  • 3 minutes for Juniors and Masters
  • 4 minutes for Seniors

Eligibility: A current member in good standing of the USJA, USJI, or USJF (card required). A membership card (USJA) may be purchased at check-in. If rank is lower than Shodan, the Certificate Regarding Non-Black Belt contestant must be completed and signed.

Entry Fee: $20 per contestant

Rules: IJF Rules, Modified Double Elimination for Seniors and Masters (round-robin if a division has 4 or fewer competitors)

As part of the Iowa Judo Bash, held on December 4-5, 1999, Judo America announces a one-day clinic aimed at mature junior and senior players and especially at coaching staffs. This clinic will be devoted to international Judo training methods to bring your practices more in line with performance expectations of modern competition.

Featuring Individual Evaluation of Your Competitive Skills! Coach Lafon will watch and take notes on players competing in the Iowa State Championship. He will provide his evaluation upon request.

Time: 9:00am-3:00pm with a lunch break.

Fee: $15 for those who participated, in any function, in the Iowa State Championship on the previous day and $25 for others.

Note: The fee includes a free judo CD-ROM 40 Judo Throws ($30 value).
