U.S. Olympic Team News! Alex Ottiano of Judo America Albany has
been selected as the 66kg division representative for the 2000 U.S. Olympic
Team that will compete later this year in Sydney, Australia. Good luck,

Alex Ottiano, coached by Jim Hrbek, Judo America-Albany, wins
66kg division at 1999 USJI Senior Nationals and captures Outstanding Male
Competitor Award. As the most highly ranked athlete to compete in the
1999 USJI Nationals which were also the official Pan Am Games and World
Team Selection Event, Alex has been named the US representative at 66
kg for both the 1999 Pan American Games and the 1999 World Championships
in Birmingham, England.
Interview with Coach Hrbek
Congratulations to Alex Ottiano, a long time Judo America athlete coached
by Jim Hrbek in Albany, NY. Alex has just qualified for his first USJI
Senior World Team. Alex will compete in the 65 kg division at the 1997
World Judo Championships this October in Paris.
Coach Hrbek has now placed athletes on the following World, Pan American Games
and Olympic Teams:
